WHY IS TREMBLOR SPECIAL?
Unlike other commercially available models, Tremblor provides you with options.
- It provides a user calibrated model with full transparency to all stakeholders
- You can import your (or your clients’) data from Excel™
- You can make your estimates or judgement calls on model parameters: It provides return periods and modelled losses for all zones at all Intensity levels; It also provides benchmarks for earthquake price-checking of original risks;
- It is affordable, and not ‘black box’.

Tremblor is ideal for high earthquake prone territories, which are not modelled currently by the major commercially available catastrophe models, and where data on past events is limited, or mainly located in educational establishments, if at all.
HOW WILL TREMBLOR DELIVER?
Tremblor allows clients to understand the effect of a possible earthquake event on the risks insured by them, within a locally calibrated model.
Damage curves can be set by lines of business to more accurately reflect building codes for different types of building.
Clients can quickly review return periods for different intensities of earthquake, matched to their portfolio.
The model allows clients to fully audit the input and output of the model to enable Board Directors to appreciate the potential impact of an earthquake event on their Balance Sheet.
We also have engaged assistance from two academic experts in Earthquake Engineering and Buildings. We will gradually publish to our clients the input of these experts and the benefits that they are bringing to our proposition..
WHICH MARKETS AND WHY?
Tremblor is attractive to both the Insurance/Reinsurance markets wishing to limit the impact of Earthquake losses on their territories. It provides a clear and fully auditable output enhancing portfolio profitability at a reasonable cost. Clients are looking for affordable earthquake analysis, which is easy to calibrate to their own territory, and integrates easily with their current IT software.
